SWT is holding its Summer Auction from 13th – 20th June 2010. We are using the funds raised to issue a grant to Bristol DAWG this time. Bristol Dog Action Welfare Group http://southwestdawg.wordpress.com/ is a small rescue based in the south-west that rescues mainly greyhounds and other sighthounds from anywhere in the UK and works collaboratively with Cork Dog Action Welfare Group in Eire, where greyhounds, working lurchers and all sighthounds face dire welfare conditions. Elkie who runs Bristol DAWG has had great success rehoming these stunning hounds once they are fit and healthy. As with most rescues, the veterinary bills are huge but this doesn’t prevent her from taking in sighthounds with complex rehabilitation issues such as Dylan the young lurcher who the vet thinks has been hit about his head, causing paralysis in his legs. He is the latest one to be lucky enough to receive help from Elkie. We would be very grateful if you could all help by making donations for us to auction.
